Self-Help Gifts Giveaway

If you'd like to dip your toe into the world of grassroots human potential resources, Carolyn Hansen and Joe Rubino's Self Help Gifts Giveaway Event, which runs through July 3, is a doozy. The offer includes materials from almost 500 people working in human potential, materials valued at almost $17,000. That's to be taken with a grain of salt because people try to sell 15-page PDFs for $29, but regardless, it's a lot of stuff.

The materials touch on topics such as personal finance, success, confidence, purpose, energy, hypnosis, self-promotion, sleep, mind mapping, coaching, and other subjects. It's a ton of stuff. I don't see a lot of big names in there, but again, it's a ton of stuff.

Between July 26 and Aug. 4, 2008, Farrar, Straus and Giroux and Macmillan Audio will offer the audio edition of Thomas Friedman's The World Is Flat 3.0: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century for free.

Listeners can download the audiobook in three sections. As a bonus, participants will also get an exclusive pre-publication audio excerpt of Friedman's forthcoming Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution -- and How It Can Renew America. The book will be published Sept. 8.
