Free Web Event on Astral Projection

At 6 p.m. PT, Thursday, June 17—that's in two days—clinical hypnotherapist Steve G. Jones is offering a free Web event on astral projection. Over the course of an hour, Jones will share a seven-part approach to self-hypnosis and astral projection. Registrants will also receive a series of emails addressing limiting beliefs that need to be broken.

I'm not that familiar with astral projection but understand it as a form of creative visualization and self-hypnosis. Looking forward to learning more!

Wayne Dyer Accused of Plagiarism

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wayne Dyer has been charged with plagiarism in a court action filed in Los Angeles. Author Stephen Mitchell claims that Dyer lifted portions of his book Tao Te Ching: A New English Version for use in Dyer's Living the Wisdom of the Tao and Change Your Thoughts—Change Your Life.

Allegedly, Dyer used about 200 lines of text verbatim.

Victoria Osteen Gets Behind Childhood Literacy

Victoria Osteen, wife of Joel Osteen and co-pastor of Lakewood Church, has kicked off a literacy program sponsored by Simon & Schuster to support summer reading.

Part of it might be a shill for her children's books, such as Unexpected Treasures, but the nonprofit First Book is involved, so it can't be all bad.

As part of the effort, thousands of dollars worth of books will be donated within the Houston area.

The article also touches on the use of meditation at large companies such as General Mills. Interesting stuff, and worth a quick read.
